FIA test preparation guide

By CSS Nexus · Updated 26 October 2026

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recruits for posts such as inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors and constables through written tests, interviews and — for many posts — physical tests, held by the body named in the job advertisement. The written test is usually MCQs of general knowledge, Pakistan studies, Islamic studies, current affairs, English and basic mathematics, with questions on law, computers or the post for some jobs.

Always follow the test pattern and physical standards given in the advertisement for your post.

How to prepare

  • Start with FIA past papers to learn the pattern and level.
  • Revise general knowledge, Pakistan studies, Islamic studies and current affairs MCQs daily.
  • For investigation posts, revise basic criminal law (PPC, CrPC) and computer basics if the advertisement lists them.
  • Practise English grammar and basic mathematics for speed, and take timed quizzes before the test.

In short

How to prepare for Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recruitment tests: what is usually asked, how to practise, and FIA past papers, lectures and timed quizzes.
